Lexus Hikari Concept - A Shape Changing Car

The car’s exterior is of 2 main forms one that permits light to enter and the other restricts light to enter the car and making a cocoon-like room in the car. The exterior is inspired by e-rubber from the company Toyoda Gosei which is a next-gen material that holds along a surface whereas permitting it to bend with no visible slits or creases.

 

 

The nature of the flexible of the e-rubber lets the exterior to control and change the amount of sunlight passing through the oval-shaped structure of the clear roof. This affects directly to the user riding the car, and making a blended shape between the interior and exterior of the user and car. This is an autonomous driving vehicle, so Hikari holds adequate room space for the users with the front motor drive, tail end holds the Hydrogen tank, and the fuel cells are lined at the bottom.

 

 

Lexus’s design philosophy of L-finesse style at its sharpy spindle grille form and connecting the four tires are keeping the iconic Lexus design language, with invisible windows and door. The roof of the Hikari that controls the whole atmosphere. Expand the exterior structure to reduce the light by covering the roof and letting the user to rest in the comfortable shade.

 

 

Contracting or Closing the exterior, gets exposed to a bright light and sunny ambiance, changing the interior to work, study, or also to have a meeting comfortably. The Hikari intended to provide a divine bond between the car and the user, mainly focused to keep the interior of the car as calm as possible to enjoy a relaxed ride, and also to experience a premium feel of luxury.
