Water is a most valuable gift of God on earth. Water is a basic need for life. Its colorless, transparent and odorless in nature.

About 71% of earth’s surface is covered by water, and 96.5 % of which is Ocean water while only 2.5% is freshwater on. In adults, up to 60 % of the body is made of water. A human can live for ten weeks without food, but not without water.

Water is a source of life for all living things on Earth. It is estimated that each person uses 80-100 gallons of water per day. Running a tap while brushing your teeth wastes 4 gallons of water. Also, we use water for cooking, bathing, dishwashing, washing clothes, etc. Nowadays, we humans are wasting water without thinking or knowing about the fact, scarcity of water faced in villages, rural areas, and many parts of the world for their basic life activities. Farmers, animals, birds are longing for water. But as a consequence of the increase in population, pollutions caused by mankind are draining sacred rivers like Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, lakes and other water bodies day by day. Due to lack of water people are collecting water from the ground for their personal life, and for farming.

One can save water through simple steps like rainwater harvesting, stop misuse of water in daily activities, and proper water management, etc. It is said that “A drop of water is worth more than a sack of gold to a thirsty man.” Now it's time to wake up to save a single drop of water, as every drop of water is a source for life. Saving a drop of water each day can save a life.

People have started rallies to save the river. A single person cannot change the world or save water, so if each person can bring changes in them and contribute their precious time towards conserving water, it would secure their future. Also keep our future generation away from water scarcity. We can also save our nature by adopting eco- friendly way of life. Let our motto be “Save a drop of water, to save a life“.
