Doreming CEO Gives Comment on BREXIT
During a live interview conducted by TBS TV, Doreming’s CEO, Masahiro, expressed his comment regarding the EU BREXIT.
Masahiro claimed that he and the said fintech company were very surprised about the result of EU BREXIT. He noted that the company does not intent to move out from London soon, but their main concern is that if the EU citizens are going to be restricted from freely entering to the UK, it is expected to slow down business activities in UK, which will definitely have an adverse impact on both the UK and EU economy.
Moreover, he cited that BREXIT have made it difficult for them to hire local people since the applicants that they have interviewed were mostly from other EU countries as nobody knows how the immigration rules and processes are going to be modified in the UK. Lastly, due to the UK’s leave from the EU, if the former weakens the strong presence of the world’s financial center, it would also discourage their interest to set up their headquarters in London, he cited.
BREXIT is the looming withdrawal of the United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (EU). During a referendum back on June 23, 2016, a little majority of British voters backed leaving the EU, and on March 29, 2017, the UK government appealed Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union. Subsequently, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 announces “exit day” to be on March 29, 2019 at exactly 11 P.M.
